Sustainability

How Sustainable Are We

We believe investing sustainably is the right thing to do for our planet and help safeguard the future that will create a better world.

We are committed to investing in highly ethical, social and environmental companies that have a material positive impact on our society and environment.

Investment shouldn’t be just about maximising returns, but also about how companies generate them.

Our sustainability objectives don’t mean we sacrifice return, but empower companies to achieve their sustainability goals.

We are also members of Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and have a four-star sustainability rating on Morningstar.

We are in the process of attaining B Corp status. The combination of PRI membership, a Morningstar Sustainability rating, and B Corp status is proof positive that Minerva Money Management is wholly committed to sustainability and to working collaboratively with all of its stakeholders.

1

Why is sustainability becoming an increasingly important part of the investment process?

There is a growing awareness and acceptance that businesses have an important role in society that goes beyond simply making profits. So matters such as the environment, social and employee concerns, human rights, anti corruption and anti-bribery really matter.
2

What does the collective future of sustainability look like?

Meeting global development and conservation goals is possible, but only if we make radical changes to the ways we provide food, water, energy and other resources.
3

Are companies investing enough resources to achieve sustainability future goals?

Companies are increasingly investing more resources to achieve future sustainability goals; however, it is likely to take longer to achieve these targets in practice.
4

What are the advantages of investing in a sustainable company?

Research shows that there are many benefits of sustainable companies such as improved brand image and competitive advantage, increased profitability and reduced costs, improved ability to comply with regulation, greater attraction to employees and investors, reduced waste, and more contented shareholders.
5

Does investing in sustainability mean sacrificing return?

Quote the opposite. If anything sustainability increases profitability because of the benefits of improved efficiency, a better reputation, and future-proofing against regulation.
6

What business value have you seen from your sustainability efforts?

It has boosted our brand image, made our investment funds and portfolio management service more popular, and improved our investment returns for investors.
